Most Bentley OpenUtilities and related products provide brief descriptive messages that indicate what a command will do before you select the command. One kind of message is the Status Bar message, which appears in the Status Bar at the bottom of the screen when you open a menu and rest the pointer on a menu command.

Another type of command message is a Tool tip, a text label describing the function of a toolbar button. A Tool tip appears when you hold the pointer over a toolbar button.
